The first three rounds on the 2024 NFL Draft are officially in the books with 100 picks finding their landing spot at football's highest level. The Los Angeles Rams have taken a defense-first approach this year, with three of their first four picks lining up on that side of the ball.
Here's a look at their current selections:
Round 1, No. 19: Florida State EDGE Jared Verse
Round 2, No. 39: Florida State DT Braden Fiske
Round 3, No. 83: Michigan RB Blake Corum
Round 3, No. 99: Miami S Kamren Kichens
But there's still more work to be done in rounds 4-7. three best players still available for the taking heading into the final day of the draft:
The argument could easily be made that Rattler is the best quarterback remaining, though the rankings among analysts varies. Rattler, once heralded as a potential Heisman Trophy candidate and first overall draft pick, suffered a setback when he was benched in favor of Caleb Williams at Oklahoma. Despite not having all the pieces he needed around him, Rattler rewrote his narrative after transferring to South Carolina, later named the MVP at the Senior Bowl pre-draft showcase.
Rattler finished out his final college football season at South Carolina with a 69.8% completion rate, passing for 3,186 yards with 19 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. He'd be a fine option to add into the mix with Stetson Bennett.
The Rams could add another defensive player and bolster a lackluster linebacking corps with the addition of a player like Gray. He was a notable part of the Tar Heels defense throughout his college career and can help the Rams as a prospect who is solid in coverage and can also help in defending against the ground game.
Gray finished out the 2023 season with
The Rams have a solid stable of wideouts Cooper Kupp, Demarcus Robinson and Puka Nacua in the fold, but they need to do more work to add depth. Los Angeles could do this by adding Cowing into the mix with one of their Day 3 selections after he found success at Arizona as a former UTEP transfer.
Cowing was named Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 Conference in 2023, leading the team with a program-record 13 receiving touchdowns. He tied for the team lead with 90 catches for 848 yards, averaging 9.4 yards per reception.
